Two weeks

Only two weeks from being up at camp again. They are letting me speak up there again this year and I am scrambling to get things together for camp. Pray for all of us up at Big River Bible Camp as we start working. Pray that God provides, as He has in years past, for our needs. Pray for God to speak through each of the speakers, myself being one of them. Hopefully this year I will be able to update a little more often this year.

Heading home

There is something really sad about leaving. I have been up here for 51 days and it seems like there is so much more to do, but alas God has me in Floydada for a purpose. I am excited for the ministry that is coming and the joy I will get in sharing with others about my time up here. Its time to say farewell to Saskatchewan but the ministry God has for me is not over because I am leaving. When I am home and can log onto a computer I will post a more detailed summary of the trip. Thank you for your prayers and support

Mid camp update

Blog  Hey guys, sorry I haven't updated much since I've been here. Things have been moving pretty fast. Staff training went pretty well, a little confusing because of the power outage but pretty good. It was a little strange because I am won of the oldest now.  The first week was teen camp. There weren't a whole lot of campers, but we knew everyone by name and it felt like family. We got to the final staff meeting looked around and scratched our heads because there were so few leaders. God truly provided for us in many ways that week. I cabin led that week with a friend of mine and only five campers.   Last week was a bit different. I was in charge of leadership training, which was difficult. The week was difficult and trying, but we got to preach the gospel to the kids so it was a great week.  This week is different for me. I have no official job so I have been floating helping where needed. There is a deaf person working so it is a great deal of fun conversing with him and interpreting. Also am leading music this week which is a lot of work, but quite fun. Singing one of the songs I wrote tonight and another tomorrow.  This week God has been teaching me a bit about some different areas of my life like ministry and family. I'm eager to see how these next few days go.  Please that we, the staff finish strong and keep our focus right, we are in about the middle of camp so for those of us working all summer we need to remain strong against spiritual attacks.  Please also pray there has been a bear at the neighbors place and we heard it last night (it doesnt help that I am staying in a cabin called Bear Country)  That is a brief wrap up of the past few weeks we still have one week of kid's camp, jr. Teen and discipleship weeks left after this. Please continue praying for us.

So Little Time

After this weekend time is going to fly. I have a 3 week English course then it is up to camp for seven and a half weeks, then school starts a week after that, then insanity until December. There is much preparation that needs to happen between now and the end of June, mostly prayer. This will be my sixth summer up at Big River Bible Camp, and I still feel like I have no idea what I am doing, surely by now I should have a routine right? No, perhaps it is better to not have a routine. I ask that you join me in praying for the coming trip. Here are the things to pray for: Open hearts in both the campers and staff Words to say Safety, last year we had a tornado way too close for comfort, also this knuckle head managed to roll my ankle making it much harder to do things. Health almost every summer I have been sick, or had a camper get sick which leads me to the next prayer No camper goes home (or gets sent home) Lost two campers last year on the same day. It was was incredibly difficult watching them go Unity in the staff, there is always the tendency to go with the group of friends Wisdom Patience Absence of the holy huddle, that is mostly a prayer to help us (the staff) to keep our focus on the kids, it's difficult sometimes but we need to avoid the holy huddle at all costs.
